“I’m Hungry!” 10 Great After School Snacks

Back to school means kids coming home hungry!

Here are some easy after school snack ideas, packed full of protein to keep your student fueled and read to conquer anything after school activities demand!

  • Bean and cheese burrito
  • Chopped carrots and hummus
  • Celery stick, Peanut or Sunflower butter, raisins (AKA: Frogs on a log)
  • English muffin pizza: tomato sauce, cheese
  • Toast with Peanut or Sunflower butter, honey and bananas with a sprinkling of granola
  • Hard boiled eggs or Deviled Eggs
  • Pretzels with cheese squares (squares are more fun!)
  • Turkey roll-up with lettuce (cream cheese inside if you want)
  • Homemade black bean dip (onceuponachef.com ) with corn chips
  • Whole grain pancakes or waffles (stone-buhr.com/recipes ) and milk
